So I have started a new thing now and every Monday I’m going to post a moment of truth. This moment of truth is how I feel about something that really drives me crazy. I’m also going to try and use less words and more pictures. So here goes…..
Monday’s moment of truth
So u sit around and get mad at yourself because you look like this
Or like this
And you eat like this
But you make lame excuses
About why you can’t do this!
Moment of Truth:
Treat your body right! Excuses get you no where and telling yourself you don’t care only makes it worse!!
So it’s Sunday and I’m spending the day making a room design for a friend and I came across some pretty awesome kid rooms while showing her a few ideas. I love all of these and thought I would share with you guys. Take a look!!
This picture is from project nursery and I love the outside forest theme. It sort of reminds me of Peter Rabbit.
These two rooms are from digs digs. The one on the left has an awesome surf theme while the one one the right…..”well, shiver me timbers”. I love it!!
Here is another outside forest theme from Niriti. I love the swing and the climbing rope.
This one is my favorite of all. OMG…..my daughter will have an awesome room like this. Every princess deserves a great place to lay her head.
This room from Luxury Idea is very overwhelming but a child would love this. It’s like a kid sanctuary.
Last but not least is this nautical theme room from Beggo Design. It’s very simple but eye catching.
All of these room designs are fantastic!! I believe a home never has to be dull and can be fun and exciting. I look forward to sharing the design we decide on.
Okay so I know it’s to hot to be talking about making chicken taco salads but my hubby wanted Taco Bell so he got Taco Home instead. I found this great taco shell kit at my commissary on base. Have a look!!
All I had to do was put together this little bake able do hickey in the box (only took me two seconds) and lay the tortilla over the shell. Well, I had to bake it to of course and BAM!! It was done.
Ok, I should’ve taken pictures but oops!! I’m bad at that. Also, I let my chicken breast cook all day in a crockpot with salsa, corn, and black beans. The meat tasted incredible because it was so tender.
In the end, We had an awesome chicken salad and I can’t wait to make it again.

Happy cooking and stay cool!!
My favorite place to be during the summer is my back porch. Although its extremely hot, I can guarantee with the right look and feel you would spend most of your time out there to. I have been doing a lot of decorating and have ran across a few things I enjoy seeing during the summer on my patio and thought I would share. So here are a few tips to spruce up your back porch for the summer.
These are featured from homesresult.com but I love the variety of colors and shapes. You can find these at your local Target or Walmart as well.
I love this curtain look from curtain-idea.com. Having curtains on your porch makes the porch feel homey and comfortable. Here’s another style I like!
This flowing curtain look is from deliciouslydetermined.com. I think the curtains make the room look so serene.
3. Comfy chairs
I love this comfy and big size piece of furniture from Acefurniture.com. I could just fall asleep in this and have sweet dreams.
I found these on apartmenttherapy.com. I just love the colors and yes in a summer room you must use color.
Adding a coffee table, rugs, and little accents can really bring your porch together. Check out some of these from my favorite place to shop one kings lane.
With these awesome items added to your back porch you can make your space look absolutely fantastic.
So everybody has places that are their favorite every year but I have just a few I plan to visit before the summers over. So here’s my list of adventures…….
First stop…….California to the beautiful and energetic Venice Beach. The entertainment here is great!!
California is pretty hot but it has a lot of great things to do for the summer. My next stop in Cali is Disney Land. Oh yeah!! This stop is for the little kid in me lol!!
Yes it’s not like the real Disney World but it’s just as awesome. Next stop after this is the great city of Portland, Oregon. I have never been here but my in laws live here and I am going on a new adventure.
I am so excited. My final destination for my internship is New York. I am so excited. I can’t wait. Country girl to city lights? I don’t know if I will want to come home.
Well, to top this whole trip off my dream vaca would be the Bahamas. I’m not going this year but maybe next summer where the water is crystal blue and beautiful.
Summer time is a time for fun. So get away from your stress and relax.
So I have been using this great app on my phone called Green Kitchen. The makers of this app are wonderful. Due to the fact that I have gone a little vegan, I choose this app to help me create a few recipes that are clean and green.
One of the new recipes that I have tried is the frozen cheesecake. Delicious. I loved it so much I wanted to share it.
Here’s the recipe!! If you would like to see more recipes check out the Green Kitchen.
Frozen Pink Cheesecake
300 g (2 cups) almonds
10-12 fresh dates, pitted
2 tbsp coconut oil
a pinch of salt
2 cups fresh (or frozen) raspberries & strawberries
juice from 1/2 lemon
1/2 cup honey
1 cup mascarpone cheese
1 cup quark or curd (you could probably also replace it with a fat Greek or Turkish yogurt)
1 cup fresh summer fruit and a couple of edible flowers
Grind almonds in a blender or a food processor for about a minute. Add dates, coconut oil and salt and run the processor until it all comes together. Flatten it out on the bottom of an 8-inch non-stick spring form. Store in the fridge while you make the filling.
Blend berries, lemon juice and honey. Stir together mascarpone, curd and the blended berries in a large bowl. Pour it on top of the crust in the spring pan and put it in the freezer for 1-2 hours (you can keep it in the freezer for days but then you have to let it soften a bit before you serve it) .
Top the cake with fresh fruit and a couple of flowers. Serve immediately.
This is a great summer dessert and taste so good.
So I have ultimately figured out this whole Linky party thing lol!! Truth is though, I am truly excited. I am starting a great linky party real soon and the amount of people participating is great. I don’t want to give out the date yet but let me tell you……it’s one of those great 90 day challenges.
What I am going to do is give you a list of things you need to get ready for my challenge.
Here goes nothing:
-clean pantry and cabinets
-healthy shopping list
And most of all please go over to WordPress.com or blogger and create a free personal blog space to link up and share your photos, videos, and inspiration with all of us. At the end of the challenge I will be giving away great prizes for several different categories.
So let’s just say my husband and I have decided to start a family and while in the mix we are looking for the ultimate mom car. I ran into a few websites that showcased a lot of mom cars but I have to say I was very excited. Take a look at some of these…..
These are all awesome cars but here’s the thing….I have always told myself I would never drive a minivan. Okay, I do like the ones with the fold down tables and the storage underneath but I don’t want a minivan.
Next I saw this as one of the top 10 mom cars….
Absolutely love but really a two door? I can imagine how hard it is to get a car seat in and out of that pretty little ride.
So I narrowed it down…….here goes nothing….
Or the classic but sporty Volvo.
So now to do the shopping!!
