Today is Armed Forces Day and yes we should be celebrating with the men and woman who defend our country.
If you see someone today who is in uniform or who you know serves our country proud, don’t be afraid to thank them for what they do.

What a dreadful word and yes it has came into my life again. My hubby just returned from deployment and yet again he will be going on another one.
The long dreadful months feel like they go on forever and there never over. Last year I literally drowned myself in school and a full time job to make the time go by faster. This year I have no idea what I will be doing. All I can anticipate is the welcome home again and all the fun things that come with it like decorating your home or making cute little I love you banners.
The build up till the bus arrives with your man is amazing and the tears you shed as you finally get to see him again……PRICELESS! The best things about deployments is that your not alone. There are tons of other wives who feel your pain and agony about deployments. There are tons of wives like myself who have been through it millions of times and can help relieve a little stress. No one likes the word deployment.

Okay so I have made some pretty not so drastic changes to my blog and I’m hoping everyone will enjoy. I only changed my header and my blog name. There will be more changes but nothing that will affect my communication with my loving followers. I started this blog to showcase my DIY and as I got more into blogging I decided I wanted to share my stories as a military wife as well. I have realized that in a way my stories can help others and others can help me. I hope that everyone enjoys following my journey through the military life, DIY, family, love and the trials. So first off I decided to add some lifestyle post to my blog just in case anyone was wondering why I was writing about this. Also, I told a fellow blogger I would write when I was ready to start my journey into becoming a vegetarian. For a few years now, I have been thinking about going vegan and starting today I am taking that step.
I am indeed a great animal lover of all kinds and although I have to admit I cant 100% say that’s why I am becoming a vegetarian(close though about 96%) I am still proud of myself for taking the first step. I have decided though that I am not going to become a full vegan. The only thing I will not do is eat meat. Once I have been meat free for a year, I will contemplate about becoming a full vegan.
I have been doing some research on ways to become a healthier person and to lower my chances of cancer, high blood pressure, and diabetes. All of which run in my family. I also suffer from a medical issue called fibroids. Because of this I have been unable to conceive or carry a baby past the 2 month mark. With my fibroids it has been told to me by several doctors and I have read as well that becoming a vegetarian will help lower my risk of them coming back after my surgery. So, basically I have to say I am becoming a vegetarian for health issues.
I did realize today though after doing research that we have a lot of celebrity vegetarians. Take a look!!
So today I stand and say “I am a new found vegetarian”. I have the will power with God by my side to do this. Let the vegetarianism begin!!
I have totally fallen in love with Valspar paint and all because of this I have been obsessed with their yellow and gray palette. I have been making inspiration boards for my new home and have decided to do my bedroom or my living room gray and yellow with a pop of turquoise. I know sounds crazy right? It’s actually pretty fabulous. Take a look at some of the decor I love…..
I absolutely love this rug and those pillows. Yeah yeah!! So where does the turquoise fit it. I found these great lamps that I love as well.

Elle Decor….Oh how I love you!!
I’m totally speechless at the moment and feel like I need to share this awesome news with the world. Ummmm……ok where do I start? Oh yeah…I opened my email today to find a new up and coming design company which just so happened to be the one and only Justin Timberlake. Alongside Justin Timberlake he works with designer Estée Stanley, world reknown celebrity stylist. Take a look at some of their items.
I think this is just fabulous! Who would of ever thought. Ok….real quick let me tell you how it works. You go on their website http://www.homemint.com and you go through a little question which is about 5-6 questions about your personal home style. Once your profile is complete they show you your top items based on your answers. Take a look at mine……

Oh great!! A lot of us have husbands who are extreme sports fans and if I’m not mistaken, a lot of wives hate it. Well some anyways lol!! So what if there was a way you could love it with your husband? OMG….I figured it out! My friend and her husband are ultimate Alabama State fans. In the essence of football I made them a Alabama State wreath from yarn, ribbon, felt, and a wooden letter.
I started with a 12″ foam wreath. I wrapped the wreath 1/4 red and the rest in black. You might get carpel tunnel doing this but don’t worry you won’t be able to feel it after a while lol!!
I then proceeded to make flowers out of felt. In order to do this you must cut a circle out of the felt. Then you will cut the circle from outer going in to a spiral till you get to the center. Once you have done that you will roll the felt up from beginning to end and I glued the end with a hot glue gun. If you want to jazz up the flower you can use corsage pins or jewels. (I will have a tutorial up soon.)
For this particular wreath I added a few pieces to make it interesting like the footballs, the football ribbon, and the number 1. I also added an A in the middle for Alabama. This is a really cute gift for someone. My friend absolutely loved it.

So one of my favorite seasons of the year as far as fun is summer. I have to say though, I’m not really a heat fan. In that case I spend a lot of time at the beach in the water where it’s cool. Take a look at the beautiful weather.
It’s awesome outside! Summer is also the time for beach inspired decor. I love the calm blues and the seashells. I grabbed a few of my favorites. So take a look!
I love the warmth you feel as you look at these rooms. They make you feel like you just want to fly away or maybe even take a long nap.
